The Defendant, Oterrel J. Boutte, was convicted of monetary instrument abuse and then charged as a habitual offender. He entered a plea of not guilty. The parties stipulated Defendant had three prior felony convictions. The trial court subsequently adjudicated Defendant to be a habitual offender and sentenced him to twenty years at hard labor.
