The defendant, Lloyd Wayne Nelson, was charged by bill of information with simple burglary, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62, and theft of used building components, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67.23. Following a trial by jury, he was convicted as charged. The trial court sentenced the defendant to serve eight years in prison at hard labor for each conviction, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
