Defendant was charged in the Mayor's Court for the City of Ponchatoula with the following offenses: violation of La. R.S. 40:966(C) (possession of marijuana), and violation of La. R.S. 14:108 (resisting an officer). A trial was conducted on October 8, 2002, by a Magistrate, where defendant was found guilty and sentenced to serve six months in the Tangipahoa Parish jail.
