The defendant, Anthony Mark Mandigo, was convicted of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance in excess of 28 grams but less than 200 grams, which is a violation of La. R.S. 40:967(F)(1)(a). He was subsequently adjudicated as a fourth felony offender and sentenced to life imprisonment without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
