WILLIAMS, J.

A Webster Parish Grand Jury returned an indictment against the defendant, Emmanuel Edwards, for second degree murder, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. The defendant pled guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to serve 21 years in prison at hard labor. For the reasons set forth herein, we affirm the defendant's conviction and sentence.
