In this criminal proceeding, defendant/appellant Larry N. Lewis Jr. appeals his manslaughter conviction and his 30-year sentence. He assigns as error the sufficiency of the evidence and excessiveness of the sentence. For the reasons that follow, we affirm the defendant's conviction, but vacate that portion of the judgment imposing a sentence of 30 years at hard labor and remand the case for resentencing in accordance with this opinion...
