On March 14, 2007, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, David J. Stewart, with first degree robbery in violation of La. R.S. 14:64.1. Defendant was arraigned and pled not guilty.

On October 23, 2007, trial commenced before a twelve-person jury, which unanimously found defendant guilty as charged. On August 15, 2008, the trial court sentenced defendant to imprisonment at hard labor...
