Defendant, George Thomas, was charged by bill of information with possession with intent to distribute cocaine in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967(A) (count one) and with distribution of marijuana within 1000 feet of a school in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:981.3 (count two). Defendant proceeded to trial and was found guilty of the lesser charge of possession of cocaine as to count one and guilty as charged...
