On July 6, 2004, a St. John the Baptist Parish Grand Jury returned an indictment charging defendant, Tyrone Raymond, with first degree murder, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30. He pled not guilty. On May 20, 2008, the State amended the indictment to charge defendant with second degree murder, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. He was arraigned on the amended indictment and pled not guilty.
