STATEMENT OF THE CASE

Defendant, Evans Alexander, was charged by bill of information with one count of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966 A (Count 1); and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A (Count 2). Defendant pled not guilty at arraignment and was tried by a twelve-person jury on May 20, 2008.
