WILLIAMS, J.

The defendant, Luther O'Neal Reed, was charged by bill of information with attempted second degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27(A) and LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. He pled guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated battery and was sentenced to serve nine years and three months in prison at hard labor. For the following reasons, we affirm the defendant's conviction and sentence.
