The defendant, Daniel Hinton, Jr., was charged by bill of information with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1. The defendant filed a motion to quash the bill of information, arguing that his prior conviction could not be used as a predicate offense in the instant case. Following a hearing, the trial court granted the motion to quash. The State now appeals, arguing the trial court erred in granting the motion...
