The plaintiff, Everline King, individually and on behalf of the estate of her father, Leon Nelms, obtained a jury award totaling $1,000,000.00 ($750,000 in damages for medical malpractice and $250,000 in general damages for negligence) against the defendant, Brown Development Inc., D/B/A Olive Branch Senior Care and D. Brown Enterprises, Inc. Though the trial court reduced the jury's malpractice award to $500,000 in accordance with the statutory damages...
