The Defendant, James M. Baker, was charged by bill of information with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, in violation of La.R.S. 14:62.2 and with theft over $500, in violation of La.R.S. 14:67. On March 5, 2008, the Defendant pled guilty to the simple burglary charge in exchange for the dismissal of the theft charge. The State also agreed to recommend a concurrent sentence to any sentence he was currently serving and not to charge the Defendant...
