The defendant, Clint Jamerson, Jr., was charged by bill of information with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged. He was subsequently adjudicated a second felony offender and sentenced to serve 18 years in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation or suspension of sentence.
