Caro Properties (A), LLC ("Caro") filed this lawsuit against the City of Gretna ("City") alleging that the City unlawfully destroyed a building without notice in violation of La. R.S. 33:4762 and the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution. In response, the City filed an exception of no cause of action alleging Caro had assigned its right to bring suit to Essex Insurance Company ("Essex") and was therefore not a proper plaintiff...
