On February 6, 2006, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Michael Prejean was riding in a Ford F-150 pick-up truck driven by Christopher Rabalais. According to Prejean, Rabalais was giving him a ride to work. While driving on E. Broussard Road in Lafayette, Rabalais rear-ended another vehicle.
