A DeSoto Parish Grand Jury returned an indictment charging the defendant, Derrick Termaine Sudds, with second degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1, and attempted armed robbery, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64 and 14:27. Following a jury trial, he was convicted of attempted armed robbery and acquitted of second degree murder. The defendant was sentenced to serve 30 years in prison at hard labor.
