On April 13, 2007, the Jefferson Parish Grand Jury returned an indictment charging defendant, pursuant to La. R.S. 14:30.1, with second degree murder for the homicide of Florence White. Defendant was arraigned and pled not guilty. After a three-day trial that commenced on August 21, 2007, the twelve-member jury unanimously found defendant guilty as charged.
