On October 11, 2000, a Ouachita Parish grand jury indicted the defendant, Henry J. Anderson, for the September 29, 2000, first degree murder of Oneatha Brinson, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30. Trial commenced on April 25, 2005. On April 27, 2005, the jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty as charged.
