The defendant, Kenneth Wayne Smith, was convicted by jury verdict of aggravated arson. He was adjudicated a third felony offender and was sentenced to serve 14 years at hard labor without benefit of probation or suspension of sentence; the first two years of the sentence were also ordered to be served without parole.
