Reginald Stafford and Evelyn L. Wells were separately charged and jointly tried and convicted of various person and off-grid felony offenses involving Wells' minor child, S.W. As a result, the facts and several issues stemming from this appeal are identical to those appearing in State v. Wells, ___ Kan. ___, 290 P.3d 590 (2012), this day decided.
