The opinion of the court was delivered by ROSEN, J.:

Raymond L. Ross, III, appeals from the imposition of lifetime postrelease supervision following his plea of guilty to aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He contends that the lifetime postrelease supervision constitutes cruel and unusual punishment under § 9 of the Kansas Constitution Bill of Rights and the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution. We disagree and affirm his sentence.
