This appeal raises the single issue of whether the district court abused its discretion in denying Aaron Isreal Salinas' motion to depart from the hard 25 life sentence provided for in Jessica's Law, K.S.A. 21-4643, for his conviction of aggravated criminal sodomy with a child less than 14 years of age.
