A jury convicted Clifford D. O'Rear of one count of reckless aggravated battery under K.S.A. 21-3414(a)(2)(A). On direct appeal to the Court of Appeals, O'Rear argued, among other things, that the trial evidence was insufficient to support his conviction because the State failed to show that he acted recklessly in intentionally shooting the victim.
