Merardo Garza, Jr., appeals his sentence and convictions of aggravated indecent liberties with a child pursuant to K.S.A. 21-3504(a)(3)(A) and rape of a child under 14 years of age pursuant to K.S.A. 21-3502(a)(2). He was sentenced to life in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years under K.S.A. 21-4643, commonly known as Jessica's Law.
