Alejandro Gomez pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under the age of 14, in violation of K.S.A. 2006 Supp. 21-3504(a)(3). The district court denied his motion for a durational departure sentence and sentenced him to life in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years under K.S.A. 2006 Supp. 21-4643(a)(1)(C), commonly known as Jessica's Law.
