Edward Harold Roberts was the plant superintendent for Midwest Mineral, Inc. He was responsible for supervision of Midwest's various quarry operations. His average weekly wage was $930. While making adjustments on a belt conveyor at the Coffeyville quarry, his right arm was caught in the machinery, resulting in the amputation of his arm 3 inches below the shoulder.
