LEBEN, J.

Seven times over a period of several months, a Greeley County sheriff's deputy climbed into a trash truck before it entered Lewis Hoffman's rural homestead. Hoffman's trash was picked up and taken to the county landfill, where two deputies sifted through it for evidence of drug activity. Based on what was found in these warrantless searches, officers obtained a search warrant and found substantial evidence that Hoffman had attempted to manufacture methamphetamine...
