STATEMENT OF THE CASE

In August of 2009, Everett Sweet pleaded guilty to dealing in methamphetamine, as a Class B felony, after he had been fully advised of his rights and he had agreed with the State's factual basis underlying the allegation against him. In April of 2010, Sweet filed a petition for post-conviction relief in which he sought to have his conviction overturned on the theory that he had received ineffective assistance...
