Donna Smith (Smith) was embroiled in a dispute with Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. and Bishop Theroux Barnes (collectively, the National Church) over Smith's position as pastor of a local congregation known as the Emmanuel Temple Church (the Local Church).
