OPINION

Justice POPE delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion.

¶ 1 Following a September 2012 jury trial, defendant, John W. Rogers, was found guilty of aggravated battery (720 ILCS 5/12-3.05(a)(1) (West Supp.2011)) and not guilty of unlawful restraint (720 ILCS 5/10-3 (West 2012)). In November 2012, the trial court sentenced defendant to 5 years' imprisonment, with credit for 206 days served, but did not impose any fines as part of the sentence...
