OPINION

Justice EPSTEIN delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion.

¶ 1 Defendant David Lee Fredericks pled guilty to one count of methamphetamine possession and was sentenced to two years' probation. As a result of his prior conviction for attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse and his guilty plea in this case, defendant was required to register as a sex offender for life pursuant to section 3(c)(2.1) of the Sex Offender Registration
