¶ 1 Defendant, Christopher Easley, was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon (720 ILCS 5/24-1.1(a) (West 2008)), and sentenced to nine years in prison. The appellate court affirmed defendant's conviction but vacated his Class 2 sentence and remanded with directions to impose a sentence within the Class 3 felony range.
