JUSTICE HALL delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion.

¶ 1 Following a jury trial, defendant Norman Johnson was convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jerrell Jackson. The trial court denied defendant's motion for a new trial and he was sentenced to 40 years' imprisonment. The trial court subsequently denied defendant's motion to reconsider his sentence.
