¶ 1 On January 25, 2009, the defendant, William B. Marcella, was charged by felony complaint with unlawful cannabis trafficking (720 ILCS 550/5.1(a) (West 2008)). Law enforcement officers had discovered over 300 pounds of cannabis in 8 cardboard boxes on a small airplane owned and operated by the defendant. On January 22, 2010, the defendant filed a motion to suppress the evidence...
