¶ 1 Following a June 2011 trial, a jury convicted defendant, Michael Williams, of one count of child abduction (720 ILCS 5/10-5(b)(10) (West 2010)). In July 2011, defendant filed a motion for judgment of acquittal or, in the alternative, motion for a new trial, asserting the trial court erred in giving its own jury instruction in response to a question posed by the jury during deliberations...
