¶ 1 Following a jury trial, defendant, John K. Lipscomb-Bey, was convicted of two counts of being an attempted armed habitual criminal (720 ILCS 5/8-4(a), 24-1.7(a) (West 2010)) and one count of possession of a controlled substance (720 ILCS 570/402(c) (West 2010)).
