¶ 1 Defendant, Ronex Mutesha, appeals his conviction of aggravated battery to a peace officer (720 ILCS 5/12-4(b)(18) (West 2008)). He contends that the trial court erred when it denied his request to discharge his public defender and represent himself for posttrial motions and sentencing.
