¶ 1 Following a bench trial, the trial court convicted defendant, Richard Malone, of armed robbery with a firearm and sentenced him to 21 years' imprisonment. Pursuant to section 18-2(b) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Code), his sentence included a 15-year enhancement for using a firearm during the commission of the offense. 720 ILCS 5/18-2(b) (West 2008).
