The respondent-minor, Veronica C., was adjudicated a delinquent in the circuit court of Kane County, the court having found that she violated section 12-3(a)(2) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Code) (720 ILCS 5/12-3(a)(2) (West 2006) (battery)).
