Following a jury trial, defendant, Bruce Lampley, was found guilty of burglary (720 ILCS 5/19-1 (West 2006)). Based on his criminal history, and pursuant to the Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5/5-5-3(c)(8) (West 2006)), defendant was sentenced as a Class X offender to 14 years' imprisonment.
