Following a jury trial, defendant Christopher McDonald was found guilty of first degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. The trial court denied McDonald leave to file a successive postconviction petition and granted the State's motion to dismiss his petition filed pursuant to section 2-1401 of the Code of Civil Procedure...
