Plaintiff, the State of Illinois, appeals two orders of the circuit court of Cook County suppressing a statement defendant, Chicago police officer John Haleas, gave the Chicago Police Department's Internal Affairs Division (IAD) and dismissing an indictment against Officer Haleas for official misconduct, obstructing justice and perjury. For the following reasons, we affirm in part, vacate in part and remand the case...
