Defendant, Timothy D. Kane, entered an open guilty plea to escape (720 ILCS 5/31-6(c) (West 2004)). He was sentenced as a Class X offender (see 730 ILCS 5/5-5-3(c)(8) (West 2004)) to 20 years in prison. The trial court denied his motion to reconsider his sentence.
