The defendant, Romney Adams, was convicted of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (720 ILCS 570/402(c) (West 2006)) and sentenced to five years' imprisonment. On appeal, the defendant contends that the prosecutor made improper and prejudicial remarks during closing argument, which require that the matter be reversed and remanded for a new trial. The State maintains that the prosecutor's arguments were permissible...
