Following a hearing in the circuit court of Cook County, the trial court granted summary judgment to respondent Malini Akula on parts of a petition for declaratory and injunctive relief against her ex-husband Vikram Akula. Subsequently, pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 308 (155 Ill.2d R. 308), the circuit court certified the question of whether Illinois has exclusive and continuing jurisdiction over child custody...
