A jury found defendant, Phillip Thomas Ellis, guilty of aggravated discharge of a firearm (720 ILCS 5/24-1.2(a)(2) (West 2006)), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (720 ILCS 5/24-1.6(a)(1) (West 2006)), and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon (720 ILCS 5/24-1.1(a) (West 2006)). The trial court entered judgment on the first two counts, vacating the conviction for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon...
