The defendant, Jamal Sharifpour, pled guilty to attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, pars.8-4(a), 12-14(a)(2)) and was subsequently sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment. Following the denial of his motion to withdraw his guilty plea, the defendant filed a timely notice of appeal. On appeal, the defendant argues that the trial court erred in denying his motion to withdraw his guilty...
