Defendant Ronald Jones was convicted of a Class 3 felony theft of more than $300 and less than $10,000 of property (720 ILCS 5/16-1(a)(1) (West 2008)), following a bench trial. After hearing factors in aggravation and mitigation, the trial court sentenced defendant to five years of incarceration in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
